Kristin Wood is an Advisor to Andromeda Ventures and the CEO and co-founder of August Interactive, a deep-tech company developing immersive extended-reality solutions with dual-use applications across operational planning, training, and mission-critical systems.


Kristin is a former senior executive at the Central Intelligence Agency, where she served for 20 years across analysis, operations, and emerging technology evaluation, including multiple conflict zones. She delivered the Presidential Daily Brief to senior U.S. government leaders and previously served as the President’s Daily Briefer to Vice President Cheney and his National Security Advisor during 9/11. She retired from the CIA as Deputy Chief Innovation and Technology Officer of the Open Source Center, bringing deep expertise in government procurement, security clearance processes, and national security technology requirements.


Since leaving government service, Kristin has spent the past decade working across the startup and venture ecosystem, partnering with private equity and venture firms, major defense contractors, and leading cybersecurity and data companies. A repeat startup CEO, she serves on the advisory boards of numerous deep-tech startups across aerospace, defense, and emerging technologies, including direct advisory roles with space-technology companies.


Kristin is a former fellow at Harvard University’s Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs, where she focused on emerging technology and national security policy, and she is an emeritus advisory board member of the International Spy Museum.
