
Dr. Jeanette Epps
Advisor
Dr. Jeanette Epps is an Advisor to Andromeda Ventures, bringing a rare combination of operational spaceflight experience, advanced engineering expertise, and national security intelligence leadership. Her career spans civil space, intelligence, and applied research at the highest levels of government and industry.
Dr. Epps spent nearly 16 years at NASA, culminating in her role as Mission Specialist and Flight Engineer on NASA’s SpaceX Crew-8 mission to the International Space Station in 2024. During an eight-month orbital mission, she conducted scientific research, maintained critical station systems, and operated as part of an international crew, gaining firsthand experience managing complex systems in extreme environments. She was selected as a NASA astronaut in 2009 and held multiple operational roles in Mission Control, including Lead CAPCOM and Crew Support Astronaut.
Prior to NASA, Dr. Epps served more than seven years at the Central Intelligence Agency, progressing from Technical Analyst to Branch Chief. She analyzed foreign weapons systems, supported strategic intelligence requirements, briefed senior policymakers and military leaders, and served in Baghdad with the Iraq Survey Group’s WMD Cell. Her work earned multiple Exceptional Performance Awards and deepened her expertise in technology assessment, geopolitical risk, and high-stakes decision-making.
Dr. Epps holds a Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Maryland and has authored influential research in smart materials, vibration control, and aerospace systems. Her experience also includes applied research at Ford Motor Company, where she contributed to patented technologies. She retired from NASA in 2025 following a distinguished career and brings to Andromeda deep insight into complex systems, emerging technologies, and mission-critical operations.
